Sodium Benzoate is a versatile preservative widely used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage products, known for its anti-fungal properties and effectiveness against bacteria. This pharmaceutical-grade, water-soluble sodium salt of benzoic acid (NaC7H5O2) typically appears as a white powder or granular solid and is often paired with Potassium Sorbate to enhance preservation in low pH formulations. Packaged conveniently in a resealable bucket, Sodium Benzoate is an essential ingredient for maintaining product stability and safety.

Sodium Benzoate is widely used as a preservative for cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food/beverage formulations. Benzoic acid, or NaC7H5O2, is considered to be primarily an anti-fungal, but also shows some activity against bacteria. 

It is the sodium salt of benzoic acid and exists in the form of white powder/granular solid and is water soluble. Often combined with Potassium Sorbate in low pH products, it provides a synergistic preservative effect against yeast and mould.
